What we offer
The Oxford County Archives also endeavours to increase public awareness of the rich cultural heritage of Oxford County through the implementation of a comprehensive outreach program, including presentations, exhibits, and education programs. See the “Our Services” section for more information on the types of educational programming we currently offer.
In honour of Family Day, Oxford County Archives is proud to present the first episode of Tracing Your Roots: uncovering the family histories behind the council table, featuring Councillor Brian Petrie.
In this light-hearted episode, Archives Technician Tysha Rieger shines a light on Councillor Petrie’s family roots, uncovering a mix of meaningful and humorous stories along the way. The episode touches on his father’s high school years, a family connection to a professional hockey prospect, and other moments that bring his family history to life.
If you’re interested in exploring your own family history, Oxford County Archives can help you access a wide range of records, including census data, vital statistics, yearbooks, and other historical sources, to uncover family stories and bring the past to life.
