1956: Reginald R. Day
Reginald R. Day, East Nissouri
Reginald Rowland Day was born on May 28, 1902 and operated the family homestead for many years before retiring to Thamesford. He married Mary Beryl Carter in Thamesford on November 28, 1922.
He served as Deputy Reeve of East Nissouri Township from 1952-1953 and Reeve from 1954-1956. He was elected Warden in January 1956 on the 11th ballot.
Reg worked with the Upper Thames Conservation Authority at Fanshawe for four years and was Building Inspector for East Nissouri for a number of years. He also served as Drainage Inspector until 1975. In addition, he served on the steering committee which saw the Thamesford Community Centre completed in 1975 and afterwards worked as assistant manager until 1980.
Reg Day passed away in 1996, at the age of ninety-three, and is buried at Zion Hill Cemetery, Three Bridges, Middlesex County.
