1887: William Fewster

   

William Fewster, North Norwich

Born in England in 1828, William Fewster arrived in Canada when he was about twenty years old and settled in Dereham where he engaged in farming. He would later move to North Norwich Township where he also farmed for a number years, before settling in Ingersoll upon retirement.

He served as Deputy Reeve for North Norwich Township from 1880-1881 and served as Reeve from 1882-1883 and 1885-1887. In 1887, he was elected County Warden. 

He passed away in March 21, 1917, and is buried in the Mt. Elgin, Cemetery.
