1924: L.E. Peterson
L.E. Peterson, Blenheim
Lewis E. Peterson was born on July 9, 1877 in North Oxford Township, near Gobles. In 1917 he was elected to Blenheim Township Council and served as Deputy Reeve from 1920-1922. From 1923-1924 he served as Reeve and in 1924 he was elected Warden for the County of Oxford.
He served as Road Superintendent from 1925-1945 and Clerk of the Division Court at Drumbo from 1934-1957. He also served as a Justice of the Peace, beginning in 1934. In addition, he was president of the Ayr Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company and served as a director of the board for thirty years.
Active in the Central United Church, he and his wife, were active members of the Friendly Service Club. Sadly, L.E. Peterson, and his wife, died on March 24, 1959, in a car accident in Georgia, United States, on their way home from a trip to Florida. He was eighty-one years of age. They are both buried in the Princeton Cemetery.
