1865: Jacob Topping

Jacob Topping, West Oxford

Born in Upper Canada, on May 13, 1822, Jacob Topping farmed on Lot 1, Concession 2, West Oxford Township. He served as Deputy Reeve for the Township in 1860 and 1862 and as Reeve from 1864-1866. He was elected Warden in 1865.

Jacob Topping passed away on December 10, 1903, at the age of 82 at his home on Queen Street, Woodstock, Ontario and is buried in the Woodstock Baptist Cemetery.
