1870: Alexander McCorquodale

   

Alexander McCorquodale, West Zorra

Born in Argyle, Scotland in 1818, Alexander McCorquodale lived on Lot 1, Concession 15 West Zorra. On March 31, 1864 he married Ann McCaul in Ingersoll, Ontario.

He served as Deputy Reeve for West Zorra Township in 1858 and Reeve from 1862-1870 and again, from 1874-1876. In 1870, he was elected Warden.

Alexander McCorquodale passed away on May 13, 1886, at the age of seventy-eight, and is buried in the North Embro Cemetery.
