1886: William Nancekivell
William Nancekivell, Dereham
Born in 1841, William Nancekivell was a successful farmer for upwards of forty years on property a few miles outside of Ingersoll.
He served as Deputy Reeve for Dereham Township from 1880-1884 and Reeve from 1885-1894. In 1886, he was elected Warden. He was also a strong supporter of the Patrons of Industries Movement in the 1890s, and at one time unsuccessfully contested the South Oxford Riding again Dr. Angus McKay.
William Nancekivell passed away at his home in Ingersoll on December 29, 1910 and is buried in the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery.
