1911: William McGhee

  

William McGhee, North Oxford

Born in Strathroy on October 22, 1867, William McGhee served on County Council as Reeve of North Oxford Township from 1909-1911. In 1911, he was elected County Warden. 

He farmed for a number of years north of Beachville until his appointment as County Sheriff, in 1912, at which time he moved to Woodstock. He served as County Sherriff for twenty-five years, retiring in 1937 and moving to East Zorra Township. 

William McGee passed away on December 25, 1943 and is buried in the Beachville Cemetery.
