1927: William McIntosh
William McIntosh, West Zorra
Born on Lot 32, Concession 8, West Zorra Township in 1874, William McIntosh was a farmer on the 7th line. He served on the West Zorra Township Council from 1921-1923, and served as Deputy Reeve in 1925. He served as Reeve in 1926-1927 and was elected County Warden in 1927.
Following his retirement in 1941, he moved to Embro where he served on the Village Council from 1943-1944 and was elected Reeve of Embro from 1945-1946. He served as a Director of the Embro and West Zorra Agricultural Society for thirty-two years and was a Director of the South Easthope Mutual Insurance Company for twenty-one years. A member of the Thistle Masonic Lodge and Knox Presbyterian Church in Embro, William McIntosh passed away on February 19, 1960 and is buried in the North Embro Cemetery.
