1934: A.D. Robinson
A.D. Robinson, West Oxford
Born on September 4, 1896, Arlington David Robinson was a farmer on the 1st Concession of West Oxford Township. He was first elected to Township Council in 1926. From 1931-1934 he served as Reeve of West Oxford and in 1934, he was elected County Warden.
He served as Township Road Superintendent from 1936-1940 and was Assessor for the Township and the Village of Beachville from 1954-1970. He was also the first chairman of the Ingersoll Suburban Roads Commission, serving on the Executive from 1945-1975, and was appointed Township and Village Building Inspector in 1955.
In 1949, he was named to the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority and served on the executive committee. In addition, he was elected President of the Ex-Wardens’ Association in 1953.
A.D. Robinson passed away on July 23, 1978 and is buried in the Harris Street Cemetery in Ingersoll, Ontario.
