1937: Charles F. Beagley
Charles F. Beagley, Embro
Son of Daniel and Johan (nee Collins) Beagley, Charles Frederick Beagley was born in Embro, Ontario on March 10, 1902. His older brother, William, served with the Canadian Infantry during WWI and was killed in action in 1918.
First elected to the Village Council in 1933, he served as Reeve from 1935-1937 and, again, in 1957. In 1937, he was elected County Warden.
He was a member of the Knox United Church in Embro, as well as a member of the Thistle Masonic Lodge. In addition, he was a long time honorary member of the Embro Branch of the Canadian Legion and at one time served as 1st Vice-President.
Charles F. Beagley passed away in 1966 and is buried in the North Embro Cemetery.
