N.M. Marshall, Norwich
N.M. (Ken) Marshall was born in Norwich Township. At the age of ten, he began working for a local feed business. In 1927, he took over as co-op manager of what was then known as the Norwich District Co-operative Company.
He was first elected to Norwich Village Council in 1934 and served as Reeve from 1937-1939. In 1939, he was elected County Warden. As Warden that year, he welcomed the late King George 6th and Queen Elizabeth when they visited the city of Woodstock.
He served as President of the Ontario Co-operative Company and was a Director of the United Co-operatives of Ontario, retiring from that position in 1973. He also served as a member of the Norwich District High School Board from 1942-1959 and was a member of the Norwich Public Utility Commission.
