R.F. Miner, Tillsonburg
Ryerson Fredrick Miners was born in Dereham Township on May 30, 1878. A dairy farmer on the 6th Concession of South Norwich Township, he also worked as a representative for the Massey-Harris Company.
He served as a Councillor for the Town of Tillsonburg, and was elected as Deputy Reeve in 1930 and 1938. He served as Reeve from 1939-1942 and in 1941, was elected Warden for the County of Oxford.
He was a Past President of the Tillsonburg Board of Trade and the Tillsonburg Chamber of Commerce, and served as Director of the Children’s Aid Society. Commonly known as “Rye” he passed way in 1951 and is buried in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
