1943: Ken Wardell

   

Ken Wardell, South Norwich

Born in Windham Township in 1897, James Kenneth Warden was a farmer and general merchant in Otterville. On May 9, 1918 he enlisted with the 2nd Depot Battalion 2nd Central Ontario Regiment and would serve with the 58th Battalion in France.

He served as Reeve for the Township of South Norwich from 1940-1943 and was elected County Warden in 1943. 

He was a member of the Otterville United Church and St. John’s Masonic Lodge in Norwich. He also served as Past President of the Norwich-Otterville Lions Club.  He passed away on November 26, 1961 and is buried in the Otterville Cemetery.
