1947: Milton Betteridge

Milton Betteridge, East Nissouri

Milton Grover Betteridge was born on September 1, 1892 on the family farm near Lakeside, Ontario. He was first elected to East Nissouri Township Council in 1936, and served as a Councillor and Deputy Reeve before being elected Reeve in 1946. In 1947, he was elected County Warden. 

He married Jean Greason on November 2, 1921 and that same year, took over the family farm. They would go on to have six children. Milton Betteridge passed away in 1962 and is buried in the St. Marys Cemetery.
