1948: Gordon Ross
Gordon Ross, East Zorra
Born in East Zorra Township on May 29, 1902, Thomas Gordon Ross operated a 100 acre dairy farm with his son. He married Gladys Hester Gustin, in Innerkip, on June 23, 1926.
He first entered municipal politics in 1938 serving on Township Council. He served as Deputy Reeve from 1945-1946 and Reeve from 1947-1948. In 1948, he was elected County Warden.
He was a member of the Executive of the Upper Thames Village Conservation Area and a member of the Innerkip Presbyterian Church. He was also a Past Master of the Oak Branch Lodge A.F. & A.M., in Innerkip, and was Past President of the North Oxford Softball League.
Gordon Ross passed away on July 2, 1950 at the age of 48, and is buried in the Innerkip Cemetery.
