1949: George Fewster

    

George Fewster, North Norwich

Born on the family farm in Dereham Township on September 27, 1894, George Wellington Fewster married Emma Palmer, of Tillsonburg, on January 22, 1919. They would settle on Lot 28, Concession 4, North Norwich Township where he worked as a farmer. 

He served as Reeve of North Norwich Township from 1947-1949 and was elected as Warden in January 1949 on the 26th ballot. His father, Robert Fewster, served as Warden in 1918; and his grandfather, William Fewster, served as Warden in 1887.           

George Fewster passed away in 1961 and is buried in the Mt. Elgin Cemetery.
