1955: William Chesney

William Chesney, Blandford

Born on a farm near Innerkip in 1902; William Alexander Chesney became a tobacco farmer in 1939, on the farm started by his grandfather around 1880. He married Jane Appleton on June 8, 1927 in Woodstock, Ontario.

He serve as Reeve for Blandford Township from 1953-1955 and was elected County Warden with a single vote (11-10) in 1955. 

He passed away on August 7, 1991, in his 91^st year, and is buried in the Innerkip Cemetery.
