Ernest F. Garner, West Zorra
Ernest Francis Garner was born on May 13, 1916 in West Zorra Township and worked as a Holstein breeder. He was first elected Reeve of the West Zorra Township in 1959 and was elected County Warden on January 17, 1961 at the age of forty-four.
He married Alice Doxey on November 9, 1940 and would have eleven children. Following the Second World War, they sponsored a number of immigrants who chose to come to Canada. Ernest Garner passed away in Woodstock on October 4, 1995 and is buried in the North Embro Cemetery.
