1965: Harry R. Armstrong

   

Harry R. Armstrong, Dereham

Born December 16, 1915, Harry R. Armstrong operated a construction company specializing in building barns and storage sheds in Ostrander. He began his political career in 1958 as a member of Dereham Township Council. He was elected County Warden on January 19, 1965 on the 5th ballot.          

During his time on County Council he was involved in the decision to building a new Home for the Aged (Woodingford Lodge); the removal and renovation of the east part of the Jail wall; and the planning of the Centennial Library 

Harry Armstrong passed away on August 21, 1986 and is buried in Rosanna Cemetery, Norwich Township.
