1969: Gordon Aspden
Gordon Aspden, Blandford
Born on December 17, 1922, Gordon Aspden was first elected to Municipal politics at the Township level in 1956. He served as the Reeve for the Township of Blandford from 1964-1969. He was elected Warden on January 21, 1969 on the 6th ballot. He was involved in the Province establishing County School boards; the completion of Woodingford Lodge, as well as the formation of Oxford Social Services. He married Doreen Batsford in 1947 and was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge No. 261, Oak Branch, Innerkip. Mr. Aspden passed away on August 18, 2007 and is interned at Innerkip Cemetery.
