1971: William Ducklow

   

William Ducklow, Tavistock 

Born on November 9, 1925 in Elma Township, William Peter Ducklow attended Listowel Public School. On April 21, 1944 he enlisted with the Canadian Army serving with R.C.A.F., for which he received the 1939-45 War Medal. Following the War, he had a poultry farm and Egg Grading Station located on 73 William Street North, Tavistock know as Tavistock Poultry Farm. 

He served as Reeve for the Village of Tavistock from 1968-1974 and was elected Warden on January 19, 1971 on the 11th ballot. He was a member of the Tavistock Legion, Tavistock Rotary, and Tavistock Men’s Club. William Ducklow passed away on July 8, 1993 and is buried in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, in Mitchell, Ontario.
