Perry C. Sibbick,Blandford-Blenheim
Born in 1918, Perry Clement Sibbick served a total of twenty years as a School Board Member and Municipal Councillor. He served as Reeve of Blenheim Township and was elected Warden on January 15, 1974, on the 3rd ballot. He was elected again the following year as the first Warden of the Restructured County of Oxford for the 1975-1976 term. He would also serve as Reeve of the restructured Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
Born on the family farm in Blenheim Township, he continued to farm in Etonia for many years and was active in his community, helping to plan and construct the Princeton Centennial Centre. He was also a 50 year Past Master of the Blenheim Mason Lodge #108 A.F. & A.M., Princeton; Past Patron of the Burford Chapter Order of the Eastern Star; and a life member of the Thames Valley Chapter, Innerkip. In 1980, he was one of three appointed by the Ministry of Environment for Ontario to inspect and assess the various methods of waste disposal sites in Western Europe.
Awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977, Perry Sibbick passed away on June 3, 2013.
