1989-1991: Ernie Hardeman
Ernie Hardeman, South-West Oxford
Born on December 4, 1947 Ernie Hardeman owned and operated Hardeman Feed Ltd. In Salford until 1995. He was elected to the Township of South-West Oxford and served as Mayor from 1988-1994. He served as Warden of Oxford County for the 1989-1990-1991 term of office, before moving on to provincial politics. In 1995, he was elected MPP for Oxford, a position he currently still holds, making him the longest serving MPP in Oxford’s History.
Throughout his time in the Ontario Legislature, he has held many positions including Associate Minister of Municipal Affairs (Rural), Chair of the Legislative Committee on Public Accounts, and previously served as Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs from 1999-2001 and 2018-2021. https://erniehardemanmpp.com/
